A Midnight Scrawling..

Who is that girl I saw today,
with gray pools under eyes;
a shadow perched upon her brow,
her hair strand a futile disguise?

What weight collapses her slender shoulders?
What burden does she behold?
The contours of her face reveal
her stories, yet untold.

Who is that girl I saw today,
whose lashes suspend a tear?
One blink, it falls, and I realize
that girl lives in the mirror.

Thank you for taking the time to muse aloud with me,
